This bold and exciting coffee comes in strong with dark chocolate - think 80-90% cacao - which cools to an enticing cup of blackberry, plum, and red wine complexity over a clean yet juicy body.
Anacafe 14, a hybrid of Catimor and Pacamara varietals, is a new varietal yet deftly grown by Celeste Fumagalli of Finca El Aceituno. The farm is located 4000-4500 feet above sea level along the Pacific Coast in Jutiapa, where the sea air meets the high elevation to make a perfect climate for exquisite coffee.
Planting coffee trees since she was four years old, coffee is in Celeste's blood. She founded the first wet mill in Conguaco, Jutiapa, and has been committed to both innovating in coffee production and improving the livelihood of her community ever since. As a partner with Guatemala's Women Coffee Association, the National Literacy Committee, and by launching the Coffee Kindergarten and Coffee Camp programs, Celeste has helped to reduce child labor, provide scholarships to women, enhance literacy, and to bring water and better living conditions for workers in the coffee industry.
